If long walks are part of the reason you're getting away, Forest Row is a very good place to bring the dog.
Our dog-friendly accommodation in Forest Row gives families and friends a countryside base close to Ashdown Forest, with the village's independent shops, cafés and pubs also within walking distance.
Hyrst Rise sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms, with three bathrooms, a large living and dining space, snug, enclosed back garden and patio. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome.
Spend the day exploring the forest and surrounding countryside, then come back to one self-catering home where everyone can relax together.

Ashdown Forest is the obvious place to start when you're staying in Forest Row with a dog.
The forest offers miles of heathland, woodland and open countryside to explore on foot, making it easy to plan anything from a shorter morning walk to a longer day outdoors.
Dogs are welcome on Ashdown Forest, but there are a few important rules to protect its wildlife and grazing animals. Dogs should stay on paths during ground-nesting bird season from 1 March to 31 August and should always be kept on a lead around livestock.
You can also explore the landscapes that inspired Winnie-the-Pooh, making a walk around Ashdown Forest part of the day rather than simply somewhere to exercise the dog.
After a walk, there are dog-friendly places around Forest Row where you can stop for food or a drink.
The Swan in Forest Row is dog-friendly in its Snug and Bar areas and serves food and drinks, with a garden for warmer days.
At nearby Wych Cross, The Roebuck is another dog-friendly pub and makes a useful stop before or after exploring Ashdown Forest.
For coffee or something lighter, Riverview Cafe in Forest Row is also listed as dog-friendly and serves breakfast, lunch and brunch.
That means you don't have to choose between heading out for a walk with the dog and stopping somewhere afterwards.

Staying in Forest Row gives you a useful combination: Ashdown Forest close by and the village within walking distance.
Hyrst Rise has its own kitchen and spacious communal living areas, as well as an enclosed back garden and patio, giving families and friends travelling with dogs plenty of space to settle in.
It's particularly well suited to walking weekends, family breaks and a few days away with friends where getting outside is one of the main reasons for the trip.
With Ashdown Forest to explore and dog-friendly pubs and places to stop around Forest Row, you can plan a countryside break where the dog is part of the weekend rather than something you have to plan around.
